I'm Lisa Johnson, an Army spouse and VA mortgage loan officer with Trident Home Loans. I help active-duty families buy their next home on a PCS timeline, with honest numbers and a plan built around your orders.
I've packed the boxes, waited on the orders, and bought a home at a base I barely knew. So I built my whole process around the way a military move actually happens.
Most lenders start the clock when you find a house. I start it the moment you hear orders might be coming. That gives us time to look at your entitlement, your BAH at the new duty station, and your cash to close before you're house-hunting on a 10-day leave.
Why families work with me
You'll see your real numbers in writing, explained in plain English, before you ever make an offer.
My Orders to Keys plan maps every step to your PCS date, so you know what to do at 12 months out, 6 months out, and every stage in between.
Field rotations, deployments, solo moves. I know what it's like to do this while your spouse is gone, and I plan for it.
Virginia, North Carolina, Alaska, Texas, Florida and more. When you PCS, I can often stay your lender at the next base too.
My process
5 stages, mapped to your move. Wherever you are right now, there's a next step.
12 months out
You've heard rumors of orders. We look at your credit, your VA entitlement, and what BAH looks like at the likely duty stations.
6 months out
Orders are in the pipeline. We get your paperwork ready so you can move fast the moment your base is confirmed.
3 months out
Base confirmed. We finalize your pre-approval, connect you with an agent near your new base, and set your house-hunting plan.
60 days out
House-hunting leave. You're under contract and I'm running the loan while you're in the car.
30 to 45 days out
Appraisal, underwriting, closing. The goal: keys in hand before the moving truck pulls up.
In their words
"Lisa was able to break down realistic numbers for us. We were most concerned with affordability, and she really made sure everything was presented clearly so there were no surprises."
Amy S. Former military spouse
"We were about to PCS to a new state. We were worried about all the costs associated with buying a home. Other lenders have seemed very pushy but Lisa has been friendly, approachable and a friend through the lending process."
Liz B. Air Force spouse
"You lay everything out where it is easy for us to understand and see what our options are. Working with you is like working with a close friend versus some of the other national banks where you feel more like a number."
Hannah T. Former military spouse, 3 loans with Lisa
How I can help
Use the home loan benefit you've earned to buy at your next duty station.
Keep your current home or sell it. I'll show you what your remaining entitlement can do at the next base.
VA refinances plus conventional and FHA options through Trident Home Loans when they fit better.
Book your Orders to Keys call. Bring your orders, or your best guess, and your spouse if they're around.
